Former or Current Military? Check Out College Credit for Heroes

logo of College Credit for HeroesService members and veterans: Did the military train you in computer information technology? If so, you might be able to get college credit for that training.

College Credit for Heroes is a program funded by the Texas Workforce Commission. The program looks at the military experience of active duty, retired and former military to see whether that experience can be counted toward specific degree or certificate programs. Your college is taking part in the program.

As part of College Credit for Heroes, Dallas County Community College District offers “Veteran Success Through Accelerated IT Career Pathways.” We focus on:

  • accelerated career paths for industry certification in information technology
  • an optional Internet marketing specialist certificate

College Credit for Heroes is offered by all seven colleges of DCCCD. The program reduces the time a veteran needs to complete an associate degree to 18 months and a certificate to 10 months.
